The Crombie tool is a game changer when it comes to swapping cassettes.
Whether you're a professional mechanic swapping cassettes several times a day or a DIY kind of guy this gem has a place on your tool bench. The first time a quick release spring rolls under your bench the Crombie tool paid for itself. If you like to remove the cassette for a detailed cleaning or just swapping from one cassette to another it's a big time saver and a breeze to use. This version of the tool has a Shimano/SRAM remover on one side with a Campagnolo on the other. A precision machined spline ensures maximum engagement and durability.
Dual Sided:
The STANDARD version comes with a solid handle which gives the tool some mass making it the preferred choice in the shop.
The SUPER LIGHT version shaves 125 grams out of the handle and are meant for working on well maintained bikes. The SL's are not suitable for use on bikes that have over torqued or seized lock rings. If you are working in a shop or just don't need to travel with your tools we strongly suggest that you go with our standard solid handle tools.
Single Sided Campagnolo and S Group Point 5 Handle:
All the awesomeness of the dual sided tool but in a single Shimano or Campagnolo version. Updated in 2020, the single sided tool now has the same size handle (1/2 inch) as the dual sided tool.
Thru Axle Dual Sided:
With thru axles becoming more and more common the original Crombie tool was due for a makeover. We took the piloting pin and plus sized it to work with the 12mm thru axle fitment that is actually standardized. We make this version as a dual sided tool with two S Group ends, one for thru axle wheels and the other for regular hubs. The regular side has a hole deep enough to hide a skewer nut, it's really the best of both worlds.
The STANDARD version comes with a solid handle while the SUPER LIGHTÂ has a hollow handle to save weight for the travelling mechanic. SL handles are plenty durable for lockrings that are torqued close to the 40 NM spec. If you commonly come across over torque lockrings get the standard handle.Â
Note, this version of the Crombie tool is not compatible with any Campagnolo wheels.
